Innovata Biomed (IB), the respiratory division of ML Laboratories (ML) and Pliva dd (Pliva), a rapidly growing multinational pharmaceutical company, announce that they have entered into an agreement to develop a novel asthma medication based on Pliva's novel steroid PLD-177 and IB’s multi-dose breath-actuated dry powder inhaler Clickhaler.

PLIVA d.d. announces that at its meeting held on 10 December 2003, the Supervisory Board accepted the resignation of Mr. Dubravko Mak, Vice President of the Management Board responsible for Global Business Development. Mr. Mak has decided to pursue his career outside PLIVA.

The Supervisory Board has appointed Mr. Paul D. Cottone, CEO of PLIVA Inc., a subsidiary of Pliva d.d. as Vice President of the Management Board of PLIVA d.d., effective as of 11 December 2003.

PLIVA, a global pharmaceuticals company based in Zagreb and HYPERION, a leading software producer, have signed the global agreement on purchasing and implementation of Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Financial Management software for corporate performance management.

PLIVA d.d. ("PLIVA") is pleased to announce that it has launched a generic version of risperidone in Poland, under the trademark Risset. Risperidone is a drug for the treatment of psychotic disorders and symptoms such as hallucination, delusions and hostility.

PLIVA has signed in Vienna an amended and restated Euro Commercial Paper Programme. In 1998, PLIVA was the first corporation from the CEE region to gain access to the euro commercial papers market, which is primarily reserved for financing the most prominent players. In accordance with the changes that PLIVA has gone through in the past five years, it has decided to renew the Programme by adding new issuers, revising dealer panel and increasing flexibility of the programme.

The leading Polish regional daily newspaper, "Gazeta Krakowska", most widely read in the Malopoljska region, has chosen PLIVA's subsidiary in Poland as "Company of the Year".

In line with its strategy of focusing on its core pharmaceuticals business, PLIVA has decided to divest VETERINA d.o.o, the leading Croatian manufacturer of animal health products. In the last several years, PLIVA has been divesting its non-core daughter companies.

On Wednesday 11 June 2003, PLIVA received the "Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame" award at an award ceremony in Barcelona. The award recognises enterprises that successfully use the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a value added management process.
