PLIVA ANNOUNCES FULL YEAR 2003 RESULTS
Zagreb, 25 February 2004
“I am proud to announce that the year 2003 marked a milestone in PLIVA's history as, for the first time ever, revenues surpassed USD 1 billion. However, this also was a year of challenge as we consolidated and integrated our network following several years of acquisitions. The result of this is the New PLIVA organizational structure, in effect as of January 2004. The new structure will enable us to become more functional and lean and to maximize synergies across PLIVA companies. This was necessary because PLIVA has become a global company with over 80% of its revenues derived outside Croatia. Furthermore, we have decreased our traditional reliance on our CEE roots as today Western Europe and North America together represent the main contributors to sales. Lastly, I would like to stress that, in the quest for the continuous enhancement of our performance and increasing profitability, both in 2004 and the future, we remain committed to further rationalization of our cost structure and refinement of our business model."
Željko Čović, PLIVA's CEO and President of the Management Board of PLIVA d.d.
