Healthcare action to raise awareness of colorectal carcinoma in the Czech Republic Last week PLIVA in the Czech Republic joined the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute and the League Against Cancer in raising awareness of colorectal carcinoma, a malignant tumour of the large intestine and rectum that is one of the most common types of cancer in the Czech Republic.

The first day in June has been traditionally connected with the celebration of the Children’s Day in PLIVA – Lachema. And what did we prepare for our employees’ little ones this year?

On Saturday 7th December 2002 there was much merriment at PLIVA-Lachema. Saint Nicholas came in the company of his two inseparable helpers, the Devil and the Angel, to see what surprise the children had prepared for them this year.

The Embassy of the Croatian Republic in Prague has decided to organise in cooperation with the company PLIVA-Lachema a small exhibition of the works of a contemporary Croatian photographer Renco Kosinožić with the theme of the "SEA". The exhibition was held in the foyer of Besední dům in Brno from 26th September till 14th October 2002.

This year’s meeting was held in the registered office of the company on Monday 7th October. The agenda concentrated especially on up-to-date information regarding the activities of the company, the Report on Environmental Protection and topically also the Flood Control Study.

The Annual General Meeting of PLIVA – Lachema was held on 12 June 2002 in the registered offices of the company in Brno with the members of the Board of Directors, Supervisory Board and top managers in attendance.
