PLIVA-Lachema focuses on the research, development and production of medical products used in the treatment of serious diseases - cancer, cardiovascular diseases or viral infections. Particularly, the anticancer program, representing a major part of our production, occupies an irreplaceable position and has a long tradition.

PLIVA-Lachema ranks among the leading Czech pharmaceutical producers but our products help to cure patients in many countries of the world. Central and Eastern Europe has always belonged to our most important export markets but now we focus our activities on Western Europe and the US as well. Also, our in-house research and development is focused on oncology. Our well equipped laboratories together with a highly skilled and experienced R&D staff guarantee the further successful development of our product portfolio. PLIVA-Lachema is a company open to creativity, new ideas and innovation.
Within the last decade we have invested intensively into research, development and production technologies and company production plants. The high quality of our products is ensured by R&D as well as manufacturing in facilities, which rank among the most modern worldwide and meet cGMP requirements as defined by the EU and the US. In 1999 a new production plant for the production of liquid and lyophilised injections of cytostatics, was built. To ensure the more effective quality control of the manufactured medical products a new "Quality Pavilion" was completed and put into operation in 2001. The recently opened Pilot Plant for the production of small-volume cytostatic substances facilitates production of new pharmaceutical substances from in-house development. To ensure top level quality control in research we have thoroughly reconstructed analytical R&D laboratories so that they now meet the most stringent requirements of regulatory authorities. As a part of our investment plan, the pharmaceutical raw materials and API warehouses were modernized too. All logistics, production and sales activities are managed and ensured by SAP technologies.
